Whisper Circle: Behold I Make all things new

The entire group stands in a circle, in a setting that is relaxing and calm

Count off by twos the entire group, ask the “ones” to sit on the ground, and the “twos” to each stand behind a one.

Ask this question, “If God could speak directly to you, saying one thing that would make life new to you, to say something that would change you, what would it be?” Give students a few moment to think on this.

Ask each “one” to whisper to the “two” behind them the sentence or phrase God would speak.

Explain to the “twos” to watch for your signal, and on the signal, the “twos” move one person to their right, whispering the phrase their “one” gave them just now, so they will be whispering the same phrase into everyone’s ear by the time they’re finished. Ask for questions

“ones” close their eyes.

Signal “twos” to move one person to their right, and whisper. Once everyone has whispered, signal them to move again, until the entire group has cycled.

Flip Flop students, “twos” on the inside, “ones” on the outside. Restart circle.

At the End, reflect wit the following questions:
1. How was being on the outside or inside circle different?
2. What did you notice about the messages you heard?
3. Why do you think most people describe this activity as one of the most powerful they've ever done?
