“Allowed me to share in the joy”
Procter provides an atmosphere of openness, love and respect that brings to life a rich personality in every individual. Before spending a week at Procter camp last summer, I had felt disconnected from many of the people around me. I sometimes found it difficult to set aside time for meaningful conversations with my friends and rarely listened closely enough to appreciate the depth and uniqueness every person possesses. Spending a week at Procter allowed me to share in the joy felt by other Christians my age, and this opened my heart to a new way of interacting with others. Not only did I learn the names of more than 70 other campers, but I also came to love and understand each individual. Having this experience has allowed me to reevaluate my interactions with the people who surround me in my everyday life and to become a better friend to others.
